Our Ministry List
(In Alphabetical Order)

Associate Ministers 

Our primary function is to help the head pastor lead the church.   His/her activities and duties are delegated by the Pastor.   He/she serves in whatever position they are needed to fill within the church.

Christian Education 

To organize and support educational programs and activities within First Baptist Church that help children and adults become more knowledgeable followers of Jesus.

food outreach 

Our Food Ministry distributes perishable food items to persons in our community every 2nd Saturday from 10:00am until 11:30am.  “One cannot think well, love well nor sleep well, if one has not dined well”.  If you are interested with helping, please contact Jean Mangum @ jeanmangum@att.net for more information.

missionary

Our mission is focused on personally and corporately witnessing for Christ through the involvement and support of activities which seek to serve the poor, imprisoned, oppressed, and neglected in our church and communities.

praise team

This ensemble encourages each individual in the body of Christ to make “His” praise glorious by leading the congregation in a time of corporate praise.  Worship is taken seriously and these individuals serve as an example of worshipers.

trustee

Provides responsible stewardship of the church’s physical properties and offerings according to church policy.

​Bible Study

It is our desire to provide solid Bible teaching/training for Christians as they are actively involved in the church and engaged in life.  Christian learning is not a 3 - 4 year experience, but a lifetime of growth to obtain knowledge and understand the greater value of the Word.

Deacon 

Provides, along with the Pastor, wise counsel and spiritual leadership to facilitate the growth of the entire congregation. The deacons are servants of the church and should assist our Pastor in all of his efforts to carry out the vision given to him by God.  

hospitality 

The Hospitality Ministry serves as the official church ministry assisting in church wide events.  This ministry also extends a warm welcome to our visiting friends in hopes that each individual experiences JESUS OUR LORD in a Christ-centered spiritually oriented atmosphere.

music 

Provides sacred music during worship services, seasonal programs and special events. The ministry is comprised of several versatile choirs and choir director who present a range of music from spirituals to contemporary selections.   We provide an avenue through which individuals may share their gift and are an integral part of the worship experience.

scholarship 

The Scholarship Ministry is dedicated in their efforts to assist our youths and adults.  They encourage FBC students in the pursuit of excellence in all that they can achieve.  We assist graduating high school students who are active FBC members and enrolled in a post-secondary education program and/or institution with scholarship funds to help them pursue their education. 

ushers 

We serve as “doorkeepers” and “forerunners” in God’s kingdom in welcoming worshipers into the House of the Lord.  Our vision as ushers is to impact the lives of people by creating a warm and welcoming environment where worshipers experience the presence of God through our smiles and Christ-like spirit. In this manner, as doorkeepers, we seek to reach others for Christ by enhancing the worship experience for all who enter into God’s gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.  

Children/Youth

We want parents to be able to participate in the worship and to listen to the sermon, and for the children to learn something in a positive environment.  Our mission is to offer a teaching ministry that has fun, interactive, age-appropriate Bible applications.  We want them to enjoy spending time at church and learning about God’s Word.

Deaconess

Assists the Pastor and Deacons in serving the congregation through acts of service and spiritual nurture.

Provides food services to the church family on special occasions.

Provides support and organizes special celebrations for the Pastor and his family.

sunday school

We have a Sunday School class for everyone.  Our very faithful Sunday School teachers are ready each week with a lesson from God's Word.  Come out and join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30am for Sunday School.

Our mission is to impact the lives of women; women impacting women. We envision women everywhere experiencing the amazing truths and powerful presence of God in womanhood, until the life of every woman is transformed for the Kingdom of God.
